How to Use

Theory curriculum for the youngest beginners to the college-level students.  Includes theory, analysis and composition curriculums.

How to use the Theory Collages:

The Theory Collages contain the "facts" that students need to know on each level. When students have to search for the answers needed to complete an assignment, they learn all the facts better through the repetition of looking for answers.

Teachers can copy a collage for each student or make a master copy for their studio.

Suggestion: Copy the Theory Collages in different colors for each level. Put them in a plastic cover and place them in a binder for studio use.

Your subscription with PianoMorning.com allows you to download and copy as many Theory Collage sheets as needed for use in your studio only.

How to use the Theory and Analysis sheets:

When used along with the Theory Collages, the Theory and Analysis Sheets can help students find the "facts" they need to complete an assignment. Students are able to work on their own, referring to the collages as needed.

Suggestion: Schedule students for a longer lesson time (overlapping with the next student) so they can complete theory assignments at the lesson.

All of the Theory and Analysis Sheets are to be used as supplements to the theory books students are already working in. Your subscription with PianoMorning.com allows you to download and copy as many Theory and Analysis sheets as needed for use in your studio only.

How to use the Composing Sheets:

The Composing Sheets are designed to let students be creative while using the "musical facts" they are learning. They will give students practice with organizing the sounds and silences found in musical composition.

Teachers may need to help students with time signatures but otherwise allow them to be free when composing.

Your subscription with PianoMorning.com allows you to download and copy as many Composing Sheets as needed for use in your studio only.

How to use the Matching Cards:

The Matching Cards can help students learn musical terms and concepts by matching the symbols to the correct term. Group games, such as "go fish" and "memory" can be played with 2, 3, or 4 students at a time. Students can also use the cards individually by spreading them out and finding the matches themselves.

Suggestion: Print on card stock for best results before cutting into cards.
